Multimedia Data for Common People to Learn Anatomy Easily

Abstract
Background: In general public, equipped with anatomical knowledge, it may help people to keep their health as well as fulfill the curiosity about human body. However, the multimedia data (illustrations, photographs, movies, etc.) to enhance their anatomy awareness are still considered to be insufficient in quantity and quality. The objective of this study is to help people learn more about human anatomy by producing multimedia data, which are easy and intriguing.

Methods: It was decided to deal with the muscular (including skeletal), digestive, respiratory, urinary, genital, circulatory, and nervous systems. Each system was explained by means of the learning cartoon, comic cartoon, dissection photo, dissection movie, voice, three-dimensional movie, plane movie, and lecture movie in Korean language.

Results: By using hyper text markup language, software was composed for users to conveniently select the wanted data. To search the data, the index system of anatomical terms was included in the software.

Conclusions: Anatomy multimedia data and the software can be downloaded at the homepage (anatomy.co.kr) without charge, and they are expected to be used as a learning tool not only in general public but also by the health care professional trainees.
